IPTV Ireland Max on a MAG box

A MAG box does not use a username and password. It is tied to its own MAC address, so that has to reach us before anything will load on the screen.

Send us the MAC address

It is on the sticker underneath the box and under System Settings on screen, in the shape 00:1A:79:XX:XX:XX. Do this before anything else, because until it is registered the portal stays empty.

Open the portal settings

  1. 1.When the box has started, open Settings and press SETUP or SET on the remote.
  2. 2.Go to System Settings, then Servers, then Portals.

Type in the portal address

  1. 1.Under Portal 1 Name, type any name you like.
  2. 2.Under Portal 1 URL, type the portal address from your order.
  3. 3.Press OK to save it.

Set the time server and restart

  1. 1.Still in System Settings, find the time or NTP setting.
  2. 2.Type in ie.pool.ntp.org.
  3. 3.Leave the settings, then choose Restart Portal.
Good to know. A blank guide on a MAG box is nearly always a missing time server. The box needs the right time to line programmes up against channels.

The MAC address is the whole story with a MAG. Formuler boxes do the same thing through MYTV Online, and BuzzTV boxes have almost the same portal screen. Read the full channel list before you buy any box.
